The top of this 24x48 mixed media is mostly cloudless blue skies. As we move down we see some clouds and ocean mixing near the horizon. Then a treeline and land anchors the bottom in green, browns, grays and blacks. I've done this as a minimalist abstract because the real thing is minimalist in form but loaded with natural energy
We are looking at a shoreline cutting through near center horizontally, with a distant bay, islands and mountains to the left, clouds in motion above in blue sky. Below is the reflection of sky and clouds in glassy water. To the right is the shoreline from the distance curving around to the bottom of the canvas. This is mixed media 24x43 on canvas.
I did this work to get the effect of depth and color in nature, focusing on the energy of the moment rather than a graphic realism depiction. It's done on canvas with elements of pigment inks acrylic and more, so mixed media. We're looking through Beech and Birch to a somewhat in the distance Aspen tree in fall colors at it's top. We are looking at a closeup of a Dandelion flower as it's about to release seed Pretty cool work of nature for being called a weed, a negative connotation. It's definitely worth having a few around, bee magnet when in yellow flower. 24X24 canvas, acrylic pigment ink, photography, manipulated, so mixed media.
This is a work that explores the light interacting with leaves with the contrast of near and far views ultimately to blue sky. This work starts with a single in camera full frame image created at the time. Then I digitally process it maintaining the single frame as the base, for a pigment ink rendition on canvas. I combined a few different art on canvas techniques to get there, so it's mixed media I would say in the end. This canvas was created starting with abstract photography of mine. I used a digital camera with photographic processing software so the image could be considered digital and manipulated. Giclee printing on canvas by me 24x36, then acrylic elements to bring it all together. Essentially a mixed media final piece. Signed one of a kind with unsigned prints available. The black area is the shadowed field edge background. Greens are leaves. And gold reds are grass tassels

My Artist Statement. This is a landscape using photography and acrylic painting on canvas of a woods road with fall foliage. The bottom of the canvas is golden leaf litter on the ground. The trees reach high up in the middle of the image. The top is the canopy of golden leaves backlit creating glowing projected color . Clouds in sky in back. You are looking over a field and treeline towards the sun. The sun is behind the clouds. The light glows from behind the clouds and trees as it nears sunset before color is visible.
This is inspired by a fall in New England. On the left is a prominent tree trunk. Multiple trunks and branches are visible. Upper right is a birch. The field of color is made up of all the various tree leaves in various states of turning in the fall.

For ColorADay red, Well, reddish I suppose. This is the sun coming from behind various trees as it rises. To the left we have dense branches that the sun cannot penetrate. As we move right the sun is partially visible behind branches as it glows red orange. Moving right we have a central tree trunk. Moving further right we have more of the overall landscape where this brief moment in time is happening. A.S. The inspiration for this work was as the title says, a WINTER WALK. Coming out of the deep freeze heavy snow past, the sun and snow glisten as the sun is warm and bright. No feeling of hostile winter weather, just a scene filled with energy. In January you expect it to be cold which it is in this image, but the sun even at mid day though low on the horizon does it's work of warmth. Winter cold can have some great color. I abstract it here. Basic description is forest trees and forest floor. Snow and ice. Sky at top with sun.

Trees are standing carbon, absorbing more each day as they grow. Magnificent examples of life in motion doing the thing of living that now take on a new relevance. it's basically a narrow beam of pure light energy created by the sun between day and night along a treeline. On canvas 24x48
This is a landscape. Near vertical lines are Birch trees. We are looking south. The sun is to the right and setting. The dark bottom left and right are spruce, pine and other trees close and some at a distance. They are in shade already as the sun is low and projecting beams of light through forest trees onto the Birch. Some fall foliage of last falls Beech is also being illuminated by sun beams. Top blue is sky.
Bottom is ground in fall color. Overall blue of bright sky. Central are tree trunks of birch and aspen standing without leaves, which have fallen for approaching winter. Cold air day with warming sun.
Bottom is land forms and trees. Hill like structures rolling out towards the horizon. Moving up you have the sun glow near the horizon in very clear air, lack of usual sunset red glow. Then you have clouds and sky. All abstracted in panoramic to capture the expansiveness of the time.
