"- AI is fair use because it is transformative" Just because something is legal at the moment doesn't mean it's morally correct "- GenAI..." Artists are having fun, it's their hobby, maybe even their job - The estimated time for a drawing here is 3.2 hours, that's 3.2 hours of their device being turned on and doing alot alot of work in the background, they didn't even name what operating system, which doesn't make it easy to get an answear from. Let's just use the studies estimate here: A human (desktop computer) uses 3.2 hours and produces 280 g CO2e. Meanwhile I (one person) can create (lets just say three images/1m just to be nice) 576 in 3.2 hours, that's 1094.4 g CO2e So if a person generates 3 AI images each minute for 3.2 hours, they'll end up with ~3.9 times more than a human drawing on a desktop.
