The Wings come in on a five-game win streak, their longest in three years, after holding off the Chicago Sky by a 96-91 margin on Sunday in their return from a perfect four-game road trip. Just two games populate tonight's schedule, but I can't say I'm particularly excited to watch my beloved New York Liberty (13-11) visit the Dallas Wings (16-8) (9:00 ET, Prime Video). For starters, the Libs are 0-2 against Dallas and have lost three straight games as well as seven of their last nine in the regular season (seven of 10 including Cathy's Cup). This slide began immediately after the eight-game win streak that the Valkyries just tied for the longest in the WNBA this season (Minnesota also had an eight-gamer), but the good news for the Valkyries is that I don't think they're particularly susceptible to the effort problems that the Liberty are now exhibiting for a second straight season. I will grant the Liberty that they played their asses off throughout a five-point loss on Saturday in Minnesota despite needing a third-quarter comeback from a double-digit deficit to make that game tight down the stretch.
