There's a strong possibility that it's where he was infected with the eggs of the cysticercus (young tapeworm) that reached his brain. In this type of disease, the eggs of Cysticercus (young tapeworms) are ingested through human feces from individuals who already carry a tapeworm. That's when it goes to the brain (or elsewhere in the body), often causing damage. If he had ingested the larvae from raw meat, he would have the normal type of flatworm.
