Dragons of Firelance “Dragon” is an umbrella term for several species of reptile descended from the survivors of an extraterrestrial craft that collided with the Earth in the distant past. They are typically large, winged quadrupeds, and are universally sapient. In spite of their extraterrestrial origin, Dragons are widely considered an Earth species. They are divided into two groups: Lesser and Greater Dragons. This merely refers to a spectrum of how mundane or magical a certain species is, rather than physical traits. Indeed, while Greater Dragons are often far larger than their Lesser counterparts, it’s entirely possible for there to be large Lesser Dragons and small Greater ones. Lesser Dragons tend to be fairly similar to real Earth animals and are more adapted to their environment, while Greater Dragons are more fantastical and akin to mythological dragons, often having more alien biology and innate magical abilities. Notably, on an individual basis, Magic can be fully learned by individuals of either category.
