I know I'm late to the party but as a Titan main, I fw the idea that the vast majority of Titans died out in the Second Collapse because it's what we saw in the Red War too. One of the original uncommon armor pieces was based off of a group of Titans that were completely wiped out defending the City because they refused to stop fighting even when Lightless. It makes sense that the class based around being headstrong and unyielding defenders didn't last very long in an apocalypse scenario like the one in your comic. The few yet living would either be cowards or survivalists, rare breeds among Titans.
