a screenshot of a gaiaonline journal, posted by user ashubunkin. their avatar is rose pink and white with a dramatic grey background. the screenshot has two screenshots nestled within, with include 3 FFXIV fish and a screenshot of ashe wol in his tropical fishing glam in the coerthan cold. the journal text won't fit entirely in alt text, but here is most of it: a quick preamble: i've been sporadically recording my fishing progress in various discord servers and on bluesky. nothing is easy to find and everything is fleeting, so what better way to record this stuff than gaiaonline in the great 2026? as of starting this, i've completed the A Realm Reborn fishing log and am more than half way through Heavensward. there is, frankly, an insane amount of fish in Final Fantasy XIV, and the big fish in particular have extraordinarily specific requirements in order to catch them. to prevent overwhelm, i figured that starting small would be the easiest way to achieve <<The Final Fish>> one day. Fisher's Log: February 23, 2026 at the time of writing, according to Carbuncle Plushy, i have only 16 Heavensward big fish remaining. the "easier" big fish are for the most part completed, and many of the big fish windows are 20+ minutes apart, as opposed to many being up at the same time and forcing me to choose. to fill time, i'm working on easier fish and the fishing relic in Heavensward. fish one: Thinker's Coral step one of the Skysteel Fishing Rod requires 40 pieces of Thinker's Coral. this brings me to the Thaliak River in the Dravanian Hinterlands. it was a new addition to my fishing log, bringing me to 1,094 unique fish. in catching 40 pieces of coral, i also caught a couple other friends. they also have single ! bites, so until i realized that the coral sweet spot was between 7 and 12 seconds of cast time, i caught 28 Autumn Leaves and 18 Shipworms, to be exact. fish two: Dragonspine step two is 60 Dragonspines, planting me at the Dragonspit fishing hole in the

LGBTQ+ friendly is required, VC will be provided, but you don’t have to speak. just listen at minimum! this group will start on 2/17 with next reset. i’ve been playing and clearing the tier as melee VPR but will flex to regen for the right gamer. the second melee spot can be caster, but you must know melee spots. we are willing to take m12sp2 proggers but you must be at idyllic or later.
