"(small summarized c'allie lore dump for anyone interested) for those who dont know bc i think most of you dont, c'allie struggled to pick up a combat job she really truly excelled at for years while travelling w her parents (who were also adventurers) and she could hold her own but wasnt as skilled as her folks or her childhood friend khasar (who would later become her first boyfriend, break up for a while, then get back together around sometime in late ew-early dt i havent pinned an exact point for that). a traumatic event happened to her as a young adult (i think she was 21-22 but id need to double check, this is pre ARR) while camping w her parents and khasar on their journey (capture and SA by bandits, saved from by her parents and khasar) and it fucked her up for a while, leading her to struggle w combat even more and set back her setting off on her first adventures w/o her parents w khasar (this lead to them breaking up). while in thavnair at one point, khasar's mom taught c'allie dancer and it just CLICKED like nothing else ever had, this was around 6mo-a year after the traumatic event and her parents, khasar's parents, khasar and ysera (my bunny alt and her gf, also was a childhood friend but later, like in their adolesence, than khasar who basically grew up w on and off through the years from like single digits in ages) all heavily encouraged her to study it harder and master it so she could finally feel competent enough to go off on her own adventures as an adult. shortly after that, msq starts when she heads to gridania. (also fun fact her hair becomes its current style in stormblood when her ptsd from above traumatic event gets triggered while on the steppe in stormblood and she asks cirina to help cut her recently somewhat grown out hair back to a shorter length again bc of her trauma response) also the chakrams i have glamored on her pretty much all the time were khasar's mom's that she gave her as a present just before she headed off to eorzea"
