Text: Wayne Williams has spent the last six years of his life as a detective, driven by a singular purpose: to bring down the Scorpion Gang. The case has become his obsession, a relentless pursuit that consumes his days and haunts his nights. But with every step closer to justice, Wayne is reminded of what the job costs him.
His marriage has crumbled under the weight of long hours and relentless stress, a casualty of the very work that now defines him. He regrets it deeply, the loss of a love that had once been his anchor, now reduced to a strained relationship marked by awkward conversations and lingering resentment.
At the academy, Wayne had excelled, earning the second-highest overall score in his class, a testament to his sharp mind and unyielding determination. Yet, those achievements feel hollow now, overshadowed by the loneliness that has crept into his life.
Most of his friends are fellow officers, men and women who understand the demands of the job, or those who share his passion for gunsmithing, a hobby that provides a rare sense of peace in his otherwise chaotic world. But even in their company, Wayne can’t shake the feeling that something essential is missing, something he has traded away in his pursuit of justice.
Wayne Williams is a man driven by duty, but in quiet moments, he can’t help but wonder if the price he pays is too high.
