Poem: My Human Heart Every bit of my human heart aches While justice screams at lies and fakes. The balance of power has once again tipped And rules that keep us civil have flipped. Terror and murder are leading the way And precious lives are lost in the fray. Women and children are seen as less While youth are radicalized into this mess. Brothers and sisters ripped from their homes, Leaving our children to grow up alone. Everyday as we wake to a new horror show, My human heart aches for compassion to grow. For people to know that they matter again, For the mask of hate to lift and love to win! Only then can we find our way back to peace. Only then will the fear and violence cease.
