Juneteenth isn’t just a day on the calendar. It’s a checkpoint in a struggle that never really paused. Freedom didn’t land all at once. Not in 1865, and not now. It came in fragments. With loopholes. With conditions. And for Black queer and trans folks, it’s still showing up in pieces (if at all).

This day holds multitudes. Celebration and sorrow. Rage and resilience. It's not clean or easy or PR-friendly. And it shouldn’t have to be. Because while the world has never stopped borrowing from Black brilliance, it still struggles to make space for Black presence. Black leadership. Black safety.
