A MORNING-RUNBOOK.md with hand-executable terminal steps to install, test (sandbox a fake violating message, verify it gets caught), enable, and verify. Flag any step that modifies live state as RISKY with backups, same convention as the previous runbook. The OpenClaw bug report angle, briefly. This watchdog is a workaround for OpenClaw not having pre-send output gating. The upstream fix would be a hookable dispatch layer. Note this in an INVESTIGATION.md alongside the existing recommendations. Reference architecture: pan-heartbeat-watchdog-reference/ shows the pattern that worked — atomic writes, backups, race detection via sha256, flock, JSON-lines log, sandbox test harness. Mirror those safety properties. What this watchdog must NOT do: monitor anything other than threat-monitoring output. Read or store the actual content of safety findings beyond the local log. Run in modes that could leak intercepted content elsewhere. Replace messages with anything that itself relays detail. Bundle it up, scp it down, run that brief by Pan-CC. When she — sorry, it — comes back with the kit, we'll review it the same way we did the heartbeat one: read the script, verify the safety properties, sandbox-test it before going live.
