Text reads: Robert "Bobby" Whiteman Robert "Bobby" Whiteman passed away surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy rooted in faith, hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved. Bobby was born in Prairie City, Oregon and spent much of his youth growing up in the South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. From an early age he was drawn to the western way of life-- participating in 4-H, hay farming and rodeos. His passion for the rodeo lifestyle led him to follow the rodeo trail across the United States, riding saddle broncs, and embracing the freedom of the open road. Over the years, Bobby worked on ranches throughout Arizona and New Mexico where he developed a deep love for the desert and expansive cattle country. He later learned the cattle business under Jess Karler at Karler Packing in Albuquerque, gaining the skills and knowledge that would shape his lifelong work. Bobby spent many years traveling across Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado buying cattle from ranches and sale barns eventually building and caring for a herd of his own. In 1980 Bobby made his home in the San Luis Valley in Colorado where he put down roots and raised his family. He was a proud father of 3 daughters and later married Shirley Martin in 1991, gaining 2 sons whom he loved as his own. Bobby was proceeded in death by John Casey Whiteman II, Jacqueline Vanderlan, Michael Eugene Whiteman. He is survived by his wife Shirley his children, Christy (Ira) Barker, Casey (Ricky) Upton, Addie Whiteman, Maggie (Jay) Osmon, Ben (Lisa) Webster, Sam (Lacy) Webster 15 grand children and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends whose lives he touched deeply. Bobby was a man of strong faith, quiet strength, and enduring love. He found his greatest joy in the Lord, in riding horseback, and spending time with his family.
