Humanity's greatest hypocrisy lies in morality. Kindness, love, and justice are preached—yet greed, violence, and envy dominate actions. Temples are built to virtue, but hearts are ruled by vice. There is a belief in inherent goodness, a conviction that actions are noble and selfless. But consider this: when giving to the poor, is it truly for their sake? Or is it to soothe guilt? Evil is publicly condemned, yet indulged in daily. There is revelry in the suffering of others—whether through gossip, revenge, or apathy. It is called justice, yet often amounts to nothing more than masked cruelty. Leaders speak of peace while waging wars for profit. The masses follow blindly, pretending to be powerless, yet complicit in the outcomes. Here lies the truth most feared: Victimhood is an illusion. Misery is self-created. Lies are clung to because the truth terrifies. Humanity is not a collection of saviors; it is a force of destruction masquerading as righteousness. Even love is often selfish: a desire to possess, to control, to be adored. Sacrifice is labeled, yet it is transactional—giving with an expectation of something in return. Promises of change are hollow. A better world is vowed, but actions betray those vows. Recycling occurs while pollution continues on a grander scale. Marches for justice are held while suffering is ignored within the home. The greatest hypocrisy of humanity is this: The truth is sought, but cannot be handled. Justice is demanded, but accountability is rejected. Peace is longed for, while chaos secretly thrives beneath the surface. Admitting the reality of being the very monsters despised is avoided at all costs. Humanity is neither good nor evil. It is a contradiction, clinging to lies to mask a fragile reality. And the saddest truth? Deep down, this is known. The courage to admit it is simply lacking. So continue the pretense. Pretending is, after all, what humanity does best.
