ok so, this is a message for every one here New PSA about a new ongoing Discord hack/phishing attempt. There are messages going around where a user will post a message, and at the end of it - it will say "read more" or "see more" which is actually a link. This is 100% a scam/hack attempt, and even though Discord warns you about clicking links of any kind, people will still do it anyway. Just remember that Discord messages do not have a cut off point where it will say "see more". Discord will let you know when you're approaching the message limit. Hopefully it'll never happen here, but if you see it on other Discords, do not click. DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT click these kinds of links. After having a talk with a friend of mine today who does school photos that recently won a lawsuit for copyright infringement.. I thought I’d pass on some basic information. Asking a group on Facebook to remove a watermark is illegal. This is a crime called, “removal of copyright management information”. It can result in fines up to $500,000 and 10 years in prison. Criminal fines. This is not penalties from the photographer. That is a separate issue with copyright infringement. Civil penalties can be as much as $25,000 per copy. Cropping, photoshopping running an image through Ai and any other editing is another Civil charge of copyright infringement and possibly defacing. Those can add another $150,000 in fines and possible restitution. It’s really appalling how many people do this. Even more appalling how many photographers let it go. And even more disturbing how many photographers do this. And a few photographers out there that purposely put works out there to bait people into stealing them and/altering them, later to sue and make a living that way. Please stop letting people help themselves to your work and your product.
