The industry’s been brutal: 35,000+ layoffs (2022–2025), hitting marginalized workers hardest. Unionization is growing, but so is backlash. What if there were another path? That’s why we’re backing cooperatives. Canadian co-ops outperform traditional businesses by 20–35%, and co-ops are growing in games too. Baby Ghosts just opened applications for our Cooperative Foundations program: a bit over two months of pre-formation support to help indie studios explore/form a co-op. No cost—and if accepted, we pay you $5,000 for your time. And if you’re outside Canada, can’t apply, or don’t get in, we’re also launching a membership program to share the knowledge: babyghosts.fund
