Characters: The Man: A Witch who attacked The Undertaker and subsequently ended up getting severely injured as a result. He'll probably bleed out if he doesn't receive medical care soon, which would be a simple affair if he wasn't trying to get you to kill him. Claims to be under some mysterious curse and is very upset about it.Transgender masculine, he/him pronouns. Appearance pending on whether I can afford to hire a voice actor or not. I'm thinking dark and handsome with gorgeous top surgery scars; definitely the type of guy who'd look incredibly hot with a hand around his neck, but since we have a limited amount of assets we're allowed, we have to settle for only having a dagger at his throat. Besides these details, the artist gets to have creative freedom with the design. The Undertaker: The player character. In another life, they were a medic and a courtesan (in that order), but after being subjected to unethical magic experiments, they've been cursed with immortality; they've since dedicated themselves to performing burial rites for the deceased and almost dead. Me enjoying my lunch while listening to Police Piccadilly before work and planning Olruggio hysto fic. What if I projected onto him. What if I made the stitches on the incisions pop open so he has to spend longer in recovery and he can't get back to work. What if I made him take his silly little walks for his health but then he vomits and Qifrey visits the Healing Spire every day to fuss over him and bring him 2 year old soup and it's the only thing he can keep down. I'm going to make him feel so loved and pampered to distract him from the pain.

I'll be fully honest and say that I'm dealing with extreme burnout when it comes to game development, specifically in regards to non-creative writing tasks like administrative work and logistics. I'm taking a forced mental health break to re-evaluate my personal priorities, but I can't really shake my desire to write creatively... so I'm channeling that into fanfiction at the moment. It's simultaneously freeing and horrifying how productive I can be if I can just concentrate on my craft instead of thinking about how to coordinate all the other things. And it sucks, because I know in my heart that I want to make games, but it's very painful to look at all of my ongoing projects and have that doubt creep in as to whether it's mentally worth wrestling with everything else that goes into a successful game launch. I get very self-conscious talking about this because I'm well aware that on the outside, it looks like I've been on hiatus for maybe 2+ years (especially in regards to Blood & Play). Every time I pick up the script, I remember the polite disinterest that denied and continues to deny people like me the funding & means to create sustainably. I remember that I am technically a CEO and not a founding member of a cool company co-op which locks me out of signing up for services like Comradery, despite the fact that I operate tofurocks in a way that rarely, if ever, turns a profit because I'm busy helping other developers make their games. I remember that my decade plus of being involved in gamedev communities really doesn't mean much of anything because I grew up in poor and never got the chance to network properly, and because writers like me are a dime a dozen. Disposable, replaceable, irrelevant. Sorry. I don't mean to sound ungrateful. This is probably not something I want to send in my company newsletter, so I'm gonna prune this.
