An overview of the favor mechanic in the TTRPG BARGE: Favor Favor drives everything the Chosen does and favor powers the Chosen physically and spiritually. When they have the favor of their patron, they are capable of feats and miracles beyond their own abilities and limitations. However when they do not have their patron’s favor, they are helpless. As a result, Chosen are always walking a fine line utilizing the power given to them without angering their patron, or exceeding the limits of their favor. Instead of a dice pool, you have favor. Your favor maximum is equal to 10 + your level. Your Favor resets to zero whenever you roll initiative. At any time during a round, a Chosen can roll a dice from its dice pool. When they do so, they immediately add the result to their favor. If your total favor for the round exceeds your maximum favor, you destroy all dice in your dice pool and you may not roll any dice in your dice pool until the start of the next round. If your total favor for the round is exactly equal to your maximum favor, you now have priority (Whatever creature previously had priority, still has priority and may take actions, but your actions go first). Your favor for the round is reset to 0 and you may roll more dice and build up more favor. Divine Miracles Chosen do not cast spells, they do not utilize magic, in fact, they do very little when it comes to invoking miracles. They ask their patron or deity for the miracle, beseeching them for their favor. If their patron looks on them favorably, the miracle happens. What this process looks like and how it manifests varies greatly between Chosen as it is often an intensely personal process for the Chosen and their Patron. For example Chosen could invoke miracles by: ● Utilizing a symbol or relic of their favor ● Ritual Chanting, singing or dancing ● Carving or Inscribing Runes ● Recitation of Psalms or Litanies ● Open petitioning of the Patron or Deity Thematicall…
