IMO, this is one of the great commonplace and quotidian birds. I’ve spent lots of time observing them. They’re very smart and if you earn their trust, they’ll sit on you, eat out of your hands, and just hang out and spend time with you.
I love these fat birbs. My favorite story to share is the time I found an injured one at an airport, and since I didn't know it was illegal at the time, I took it home and nursed it back to health. I'd do things a lot differently now, but no one else was even stopping for it and I felt so bad!
