## Is it safe to say that LLMs are, in essence, making us "dumber"? No! Please do not use the words like “stupid”, “dumb”, “brain rot”, "harm", "damage", "brain damage", "passivity", "trimming" , "collapse" and so on. It does a huge disservice to this work, as we did not use this vocabulary in the paper, especially if you are a journalist reporting on it.

But your broader point stands-there's this performative rush to eulogize anyone the moment they die, even if they spent their career doing harm. And yeah, sometimes it feels like preemptive reputation management to avoid being part of the "dogpile." It's tricky because there's a real tension between not speaking ill of the dead (which can be a decent human instinct) and not whitewashing someone's actual record.

A few states have absurdly high water costs, especially Washington. Why is that one so high? About 65% of Washington’s electricity comes from hydroelectric plants. All of the water measured to be “consumed” by those plants is actually water evaporated off the surface of lakes and rivers dammed by them.
