1) Democrats don't "push" the trans issue. Republicans do. Democrats don't give a fuck if you're cis or trans. Republicans do. Democrats don't write laws about trans people. Republicans do. Republicans "push" the trans issue because they know that it would be ideologically inconsistent for Democrats to suddenly care what someone does to their own body. So they write laws that prevent trans women from playing sports even though less than a percent of athletes are trans. They write laws preventing businesses from allowing trans women to use the bathroom of their choice even though these laws do nothing to prevent assaults of women. 2) And this is the most important point. Democrats didn't lose because of the trans issue. THEY LOST BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T OFFER ALTERNATIVES TO REPUBLICANS ON ANYTHING EXCEPT TRANS ISSUES. Their economic policy was basically the same as Republicans (more of the same). Their foreign policy was basically the same as Republicans (pro-israel). Their immigration policy was basically the same as Republicans (more money for ICE). Hell their big bet was to court Republicans by going on tour with Lynne fucking Cheney! So yeah if you're going around saying "we're just like Republicans but we don't hate trans people" and the geriatric fucks who vote are all boomer transphobes, yeah you're going to lose.
