Have you tried turning it off and on again?
I'm late but I can write you an extension that does this easily, I end up writing tons of Photoshop and After Effects ones all the time. The only thing is you'll have to let it live in an uncollapsed panel either horizontally or vertically and it can only live on the top bar if you leave it undocked
