No fangame or person should be treated special in an individual sense. To be special is to be alone. But the opposite means you can reach someone who thinks close to, or exactly like you. Our lack of total uniqueness is what instated this community in the first place. So, don't worry. There's a beautiful girl out there who also hates Ribbit.

Fixed an oversight when entering the Field room with the first Beware Awhoo enemy, while playing with the new enemy designs. By accident, during the little intro sequence that plays when you enter the room for the first time, the game ends up loading both the old & the new ghost designs at the same time, when it should've only loaded the new designs. As a result, after the cutscene is over, you can move the camera over to the topmost part of the room, and spy the the old design ghosts just frozen there, stuck and unmoving. This should have been remedied now.

That's all for now, just something I noticed while watching a friend play the game, and it threw me for a fuckin' loop that I let it slip by for this many months. If you're hoping for something more substantial though, like, say, an update on 3.0, well, I do have some good news to share! But that's for next week.

Ribbit 3.0, the final story update to my Deltarune mod, has had its script complete, most of its cutscenes roughly coded, and its gameplay mechanics planned out and ready for implementation. I'm ready to continue coding, and I estimate it would take no more than a year to provide all the gameplay and art assets needed, with some scope cuts made to meet the deadline. Only catch is... I have no team of sprite artists to bring any of this to life aaaaahhh!!

... That's why I'm building a new team. So far, I have a few volunteers lined up, but I'm seeking out at least 1-2 more dedicated sprite artists who can commit to fulfilling the vision of this story with me. If you're interested, please drop examples of your work and any further questions in my DM's. Your art must match the quality standard & experimental ambition established by Devilredd in the mod. (see replies for reference)

Some other rules:

- You must be 18 years old and up. I don't work with minors.

- Must've played Ribbit at least once. No sense in joining if you're not sure what you're getting into, y'know?

- Must be consistently available to contribute. At least one session of spritework per week at bare minimum would be great. I am strictly against crunch, but since our goal is to get this done within a year, we can't dilly-dally either.

- Must work well within collaborative projects. I happily welcome creative expression and discussing alternate directions on how to take a scene, but please do not use my project like your own personal playground.

oh, so you read that review too! and yeah, it's just such a shame because underneath it there's a valid piece of criticism from which we could all benefit taking a second to think about! but the author is deeply cynical, has given up on convincing anybody, and is only here to tell you you're "deluded" and clearly don't appreciate games as an art form if you've found meaning in deltarune whereas they have not.

the critique has the exact same problem it attributes to the toxic positive side of the fandom - they assume too much. what they believe sure must have had a purpose, and what they don't like has absolutely none, on an unarguable, undisprovable level. in the same way that the fandom believes they've got toby pegged, so does this carry an obnoxious, near-parasocial confidence in the image of some fucking guy. it's merely fighting fire with fire. it is worthless.
