Furthermore it incites divisive rhetoric and the mere introduction of the bill is causing real mental stress for a subset of individual citizens in New Zealand. The process of introducing this bill and inviting comment on its content is creating further division in our society. There is clear evidence that anti-trans ideas are seeded by massive funding from radical religious groups globally: https://www.epfweb.org/node/1152; and it is naive to believe that this is not happening in New Zealand. This is not a natural grass-roots led initiative. New Zealanders are not asking for this law. Anti-trans rhetoric is well-funded and global, rather than a real call for any change from everyday kiwis. ✓ My/our recommendations Drop the bill, do not proceed.
