Hey <redacted> (wow it's been 15 years since I've messaged you here, though I do remember us meeting up in the early 2010s once) – I just wanted to say I've been thinking of you lately, and the positive impact you had on my career. It's not just that you were a great mentor and challenged me to tackle stuff I don't think I ever would have done by myself (though that's important too). It's also that you – at the start of my career – set the bar for what great engineering actually looks like. I often think that, had I instead been paired with a lesser team, my entire scope of ambition would have been dramatically lessened. So thanks! Anyways, thought you'd like to know.
