I went to vote today and I can’t. I can’t unless I change my affiliation to Republican because I am unaffiliated. Only republicans can vote for republicans? This is stupid. I should be able to vote for those same positions and people regardless of what my personal affiliation is. Someone please explain this like I am a child.

Steven Matthews Alphabet City · 6d · Edited · I was wondering if Mamdani celebrates Thanksgiving, so I asked Grok. “There is no evidence that Zohran Mamdani personally celebrates Thanksgiving in the conventional American way (family dinner, expressions of gratitude for the holiday, etc.). He appears to either ignore it privately or use the day for political messaging rather than festivity.” I hope he releases a political message, earlier in the day rather than later – something we can take with us and discuss around the table as we eat regular food with no one in particular.

Mamdani’s pledge to make the city more affordable should in theory appeal to Collymore, who has watched countless neighbors get priced out of Clinton Hill. But she suspects Mamdani will accelerate the economic forces changing the makeup of Black neighborhoods by greenlighting housing that’s out of reach for lower-income residents.
