I've heard some discourse about Subnautica 2 and how Unknown Worlds are against the players being able to kill the creatures, and while I agree, at least when it comes to the Leviathans, I think it's weird how strongly against the entire concept the developers seem to be. To me it doesn't make much sense to completely disallow the player from killing fish when a core mechanic of the gameplay is to pick fish up and cook them using the fabricator, which is just killing the fish with extra steps. Having something akin to the Thermoblade from Subnautica one would only make sense. However, I do agree that leviathans shouldn't be killable, so in this case, why not just remove the concept of health from the leviathans, (and any other above average fish), instead of removing any form of fish-killing save for the fabricator? And while I do agree that not being able to kill the leviathans makes more sense from a gameplay perspective and a fright perspective, Marguerit Maida exists and she killed multiple leviathans singlehandedly, which in my mind makes Unknown Worlds' anti-fish-killing stance kinda weird as they themselves wrote a character who did it multiple times and hung a damn reaper leviathan skull on her wall
