A Chestnut-sided Warbler in profile sits on a thin branch of a wood shrub. It is a small round songbird with a yellow cap, a black face-mask, white cheeks and breast and belly, brownish olive wings with a pale wingbar, and a deep mahogany area at the upper side of its chest, where the wings fold.
Two people (seen from the back) stand on a dirt road. They look and point upward toward the tree canopy. It appears to be a cool but sunny day in mid-spring. Two additional people seem to be approaching from farther down the road.
A carved and painted wooden white-breasted nuthatch (see from above) perches on a segment of birch log. The sculpture rests on various materials: field guides open to pages about nuthatches, tips for drawing and identification, and a rough sketch of the carved bird with field marks indicated.

The bird is on a small maple branch, with two green leaves visible behind the bird's head and a dark (shadowed) background. As often happens, the photo is slightly blurry!

Many people sit around tables strewn with carving tools and woodcarvings in progress. Some are intent on their work, while others smile and talk together. Behind them are workshop walls with waterfowl decoys and more carving tools.
