We have Bit Cloudy bringing in Origin Valley to the compilation. It’s sublime and outstanding high level material in a high fidelity top notch (and then some more) sound style. Hyperbole pop without the actual pop, the anti lo-fi low bit opposite that sounds so crisp and fresh that it might be able to blow up your brain. It invades the audiophile mind like some top tier audio magician. Incredible! For a bit cloudy, it certainly feels crystal clear and in full detail! Did I already say that it’s incredibly well produced?

Fuzzy, buzzy, scuzzy industrial-laced IDM deployed in the form of an instrumental protest album. Dusty samples, distorted timbres and a generally rough-hewn and noise-friendly aesthetic are the order of the day. These tunes wheeze, creak and shake along their path, but underneath it all there's a sense of power and clarity of purpose - they're meant to do that. The production and writing are impressive, just bursting with interesting ideas and clever touches. There's a relentless curiosity and experimental spirit at work here, filling the material with surprises big and small. It put me in mind of classic Meat Beat Manifesto, which brought a similarly broad and eclectic approach to a similar influence set. Recommended.

And "Discourse Inferno" wins the clever title award. Its death disco includes looped breakbeats and staccato synth sequences, as Blade Runner-esque lead lines zap over our similarly futuristic dystopia. Album standout "Stars & Bars Petrol Tank" features one of the set's most modern-sounding rhythm tracks, heaping tonal drama atop melodies that drone into distant reverb, perhaps imagining where this all ends up. It's a dark one, but Bit Cloudy's command of melody and artful treatments appeals beyond the necessity of like-minded political statements.
