1/ Rudolph Hess was Hitler's mentor in prison after the 1928 Beer Hall Putsch. Hess rode the coattails all the way to Hitler's second-in-command until 1941, when, against Hitler's will, he flew to Scotland to try to engineer a peace agreement between the Reich and the U.K.

2/ This didn't make him a hero of the European Alliance. He ended up dying in prison. I think we need to learn from this lesson, every time we laud some fuckin' Republican for "speaking out" against Trump. You might sound like an FDR, but you're still a Rudolph Hess.
