Why do they really defund the arts?

It is not just about budgets. If it were, they would not keep finding money for stadiums, military gear for police, and tax breaks for billionaires.

No, the arts—theater, choir, music, painting, dance—are dangerous. Because what happens when kids get involved in them?

They learn to express themselves.
They learn to think critically.
They learn empathy, collaboration, and the power of storytelling.
They find joy, connection, and (heaven forbid) a sense of belonging.

And who is naturally drawn to the arts? Free thinkers. Questioners. People who push boundaries, challenge authority, and—statistically speaking—tend to lean liberal.

So, of course, they defund it. Can not have too many kids growing up with curiosity, emotional intelligence, and the ability to question the status quo. That would be indoctrination, right?

Meanwhile, sports? Funding secured. Competition, hierarchy, obedience, and the occasional concussion? No problem.

But a kid singing in choir, acting on stage, or painting their feelings?
That is the real threat.
