This enamel painting technique is done by suspending extremely fine powdered glass in a medium to create a very slightly gritty paint like substance. After “painting” (I use a metal spike such as a needle as much as tiny brushes) the medium is then smoked away, and the remaining glass is melted/fused in a kiln. This is done in multiple layers to build up the final image. This piece was painted and fired more than 25 times.

This was an early attempt at honing the skills of Chasing and repoussé. Garden eye, hand formed from a sheet of 18 gauge copper.
