Caprichia is a PhD data scientist with 10+ years of experience applying statistical expertise and business acumen to deliver actionable insights. With a background in public health, finance, and consulting, she specializes in analytics, forecasting, experimental design, and innovative statistical modeling. A published researcher and proven collaborator, she is a client-focused problem solver who has been recognized for developing best-in-class quantitative models.
Mark Freeman is a data scientist turned data engineer with a deep obsession for data quality. As the Tech Lead at Gable, Mark builds internal systems and data products that drive go-to-market strategies, leveraging his extensive experience in creating robust, scalable data solutions. Mark is also the first employee at Gable where he aims to help bring a data contract solution to market. In addition, he is the co-author of the upcoming O’Reilly book on Data Contracts, where he shares insights and best practices on ensuring reliable, high-quality data flows within organizations. With a passion for turning complex data challenges into actionable solutions, Mark is committed to advancing the field of data engineering and fostering a culture of trust in data across the industry.
Travis Cleaves is the Sr. Manager for Informatics and Business Analysis at the American Society of Hematology. A New Orleans native, Travis pursued his passion for healthcare and technology, earning a BS in Biology from Prairie View A&M University. He furthered his education with a nursing degree from Cy-Fair College in Cypress, Texas, laying the foundation for his health information systems and data science career. Since 2007, Travis has been an informatics nurse, working at the intersection of healthcare and technology. His informatics and business analysis expertise allows him to bridge the gap between clinical practice and technology, driving innovation and efficiency within the healthcare landscape.
Vanessa Da Costa is a public health data consultant. She is the Founder, CEO, and Principal Consultant of Chilombo Consulting. Chilombo Consulting provides human and equity-centered data strategy, collection, cleaning, analysis, visualization, and evaluation services to organizations looking to make sense of their quantitative and qualitative data. Her primary interest is in collaborating to promote data transparency, literacy, storytelling, and use in the areas of public health, workforce development, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her previous experience includes working in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Global Health and at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in South Africa. In these roles she led data analysis, visualization, and strategic data communication deliverables for President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)-funded programs. She also served as a Peace Corps Community Health Volunteer in Rwanda, and in research roles at the Rwanda Zambia HIV Research Group, Georgia Emerging Infections Program, Duke Global Health Institute, and at other organizations. Vanessa is also passionate about sharing and curating resources to help professionals elevate their public health careers, which she does through the Instagram and LinkedIn platform she co-founded: Public Health Resources. Vanessa graduated from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health with a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Global Epidemiology and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology and a minor in African Studies.
