A chart of the business-to-industry index for the Pentagon, the United States, and Iran. This index compares each entity's share of world income to its share of world energy use. The Pentagon and the United States as a whole are both business dominated, and have grown more so with time. But over the last fifty years, Iran has become extremely industry dominated. So with the Pentagon, spending vastly overestimates industrial capacity, whereas the opposite is true in Iran.
