They have six pitchers who’ve been great for one turn, they have five pitchers who’ve been good for two turns, and they have just two pitchers who’ve been passable late... ...Sticking two starters together allows the Mariners to cluster more innings around those first-pass splits and avoid both the third pass and the low-leverage bullpen. Sure, it may eat up a reliever spot, but because the piggyback can cover three or four turns through the lineup, they can get most or all the job done on their own. The piggyback and a travel day gave the Mariners bullpen two full days of rest this week, and it’s possible they could get a third with another strong performance Sunday. This is also why I wince at the notion of a six-man rotation. It might solve the issue of needing to hoard quality starting pitchers, but it doesn’t address the fundamental, in-game longevity issue the Mariners face. It may even compound it by adding more games with starters unlikely to finish six, forcing more innings onto the low-leverage bullpen while still eliminating a reliever.

The report made authoritative claims and, as evidence, cited studies that he thought were “only peripherally related to the topic.” It referenced percentages that appeared to be completely made up. The summary of Dr. Bond’s research was completely unrecognizable to him. In a statement, a spokesman for Perplexity said the company remained steadfast in its “commitment to improving accuracy in the world’s best frontier A.I. models.” Dr. Bond and the other study author both wrote back within hours, encouraging Joe to listen to his oncologist. That night, Ben called his dad again and, dusting off his attorney skills, presented the facts: Three doctors all independently agreed that the Perplexity report misled him.
Though Dr. Marzbani didn’t know it, Joe was routinely asking questions about his cancer to several generative A.I. tools, which often struggle to give accurate medical advice. He told them to list the early signs of Richter’s, interpret his lab results and explain complicated research about the treatment his doctor recommended. He knew not to trust A.I. unilaterally. He often read the scientific papers the tools cited and — as best he could without medical training — tried to verify that they aligned with what the tools had said. He had gained 80 pounds from steroids he was taking to manage his symptoms. Lymph nodes all over his body had swelled, including one on his neck that made it painful to move his head. His white blood cell count was 10 times higher than when Dr. Marzbani first started recommending treatment, a sign the cancer had rapidly spread. Joe’s window for treatment was quickly closing. The more frail Joe became, the less likely he was to tolerate the medications. Dr. Marzbani decided to confront him. “Why do you believe this?” he remembered asking Joe during one appointment. “Where’s this coming from?” Joe sent him a research report he generated with Perplexity.

Kushner’s firm receives millions of dollars in management fees each year for investing these funds on behalf of its clients. Jared Kushner, who has consistently denied that he has received preferential treatment, as the son-in-law and on-again-off-again advisor to Donald Trump, is now also serving as a lead negotiator (aka crony-business-deal-maker) with Russia and in the Middle East.

In what way does "allowing folks to redeem themselves" mean that the path of redemption *begins* by leapfrogging into a US Senate seat?
