I will remember on this May Day that we have not lost, not yet; that we do not have to lose; that together it is within our power to avert the looming apocalypses and embrace a brighter future. Coral larvae are born and float; adhere and build again; the redwoods stand. Rays, croaker, and grass shrimp thrive in the Chesapeake Bay, whose bald eagles have returned.
