Let people (like Bless) play games how they want you weirdos. Games provide freedom of choice for a reason! If the player isn’t naturally encouraged/excited to spend 20+ more hours in side content, I’d argue more time would decrease the score? At least that’s my relationship with open world games.
As a reviewer myself, I kind of understand where this person is coming from. Like Greg said in the review, Yotei is a game that wants you to slow down, explore, and do as much as possible. Even beyond Yotei, I have definitely had experiences where I needed to play a game more quickly than I'd like.
If those kids could read they would be very upset

the best reason to not give reviews numerical scores isn’t actually because the concept itself is bad or that you’re “objectifying” art or whatever, it’s just because people can’t handle that shit.

It's almost like you have your own opinions and don't have to conform to what every other review outlet says it is.
Now that the game is out in the wild it's clear that everyone's experience will be very different because of how ambient all of the exploration and mission structure goes. Even so you gave it some pretty high marks! I'm loving my time in it.

Guarantee this person also thinks "if a [journalist] hasn't finished a game they shouldn't review it" and yet here they are suggesting a certain score despite still being in Area 1
At this point KF should just go back to unscored reviews, people still give the numbers more value than the actual words in a review DISCUSSION.
