"To be taken out so easily by a nearly brand-new trainer… It must have been a little embarassing for him." "He's used to it." She waves her hand dismissively before her attention turns to Urbain instead. "Ah, so… About that—" "Y-Yes, Yes— Uhm." Urbain whirls around to face Manon. "Y'mind takin' a seat for a second? Me and Emma have to talk about something, and it's... just between me and her, you know?" Manon raises an eyebrow. "Oh, so you two are gonna talk shit about me?" "What!?" Urbain's eyes nearly pop out of his head. "No—that's—NO!" Emma giggles quietly behind his back. "Chill out," Manon laughs. "I'm messing with you. Go ahead, I'll be taking in the scenery." Whatever conversation the two of them were having seemed at least a little serious. Emma speaks with a hesitant expression and Urbain listens with furrowed eyebrows. He crosses his arms and looks down towards the bricks he's standing on, the nodding of his head the only indication that he's continuing to listen to her. At first, Manon wondered whether they had something going on, but given the body language she quickly concludes that's not the case. A cool breeze brushes past Manon and makes her appreciate the warmth of the coffee in her hand even more. She slowly raises it to her lips and takes a sip. Sweet and bitter tag-team her tastebuds and promt a contented sigh afterwards. While sitting on the closet bench, she beholds the grandeur of Prism tower. Scaffolding and unfinished repair work mark up so much of the base, she thinks you could forget it's a tourist attraction. But maybe there's something beautiful in that, too. She yearns to see what it will look like finish, and a part of her hopes she'll be here when that happens.
"No use for pokeballs?" Manon squints at the screen, praying that she might be able to make out more of his features. The bitrate at the time wasn't very good, so Canari and her Elektross are really the only clear things on the screen. A few chat messages go across the screen complaining about it, but Canari doesn't have time to address it. "Yeah. And after the battle…" Naveen gingerly puts his finger on the play bar and slides it to a later time. It cuts to the stranger's complete victory over Canari, leaving her speechless. She rushes over to cradle the body of her exhausted Elektross. Her opponent's Gogoat prances nearly unharmed back over to its temporary trainer for a quick pat on the head. Then it bounces off of the court and into a cluster of trees, never to be seen on the stream again. "So, it wasn't even his pokemon?" Manon asks. "I guess not. Your savior seems to be a little bit of a weird guy." The video continues, the stranger gives a goodbye wave and thanks Canari with a kind of sincerity that makes Manon's heart suddenly race. It's definitely him. She wouldn't mistake that gentle, warm voice. "Are you… alright?" Naveen's voice startles her. She slaps her thumb against the screen to pause it before stuffing her phone away. "Yep! I'm fine." Manon turns her head, casting her gaze away.
