this graph shows that over the past 40 years, with the exception of the Rwanda genocide, we have been seeing a constant raise in deaths per year, certainly not WW2 levels but the trend this century is up

1. That’s not a “constant“ raise, there are clear downward periods too. 2. You gotta track deaths per capita, not total deaths. world population is up like 50% over that time period; if the world was equally as violent you’d expect a positive trend due to population alone.
