digital foundry: "it's quite difficult to argue with [dlss 5]" is it really that hard to predict issues with a technology that considers artistic intent a problem to be fixed also every example of dlss 5 i've seen makes everything look like a shitty youtube thumbnail, like are we serious

Digital foundry is good for informing yourself on performance- but man are their opinions not worth anything lmao

the AI also straight up did not understand Leon's expression. he's clearly supposed to be stern yet a little sad at what he's witnessing, and now he's absent mindedly looking forward and thinking about dinner!

Why does he glow in the dark? Was he chewing on radium?

Years into the 'AI' bubble and the first use in gaming is a global yassification filter?

This is probably the least awful use I've seen, but even then I much prefer the original. The lighting is more subtle. His face doesn't look like bits cut from a magazine and stuck together. Devs will spend years making their game look a certain way just for your GPU to ruin it. $4000 please!

it's being pushed as a lighting technology but every one of their own examples just adds a bunch of light for no reason. why is leon glowing? in the infamous picture of grace on the street, the street lamp in the background is turned off by DLSS 5 so the scene can be 100% sunlit in overcast weather.

RAM costs $900 now to make Resident Evil characters more glam'd than they already are what are we even doing...

Artistic intent, applies to older games only. Current games tend to use Unreal Engine, so they all practically look the same anyways.
