This President treats the Justice Department like his own personal law firm--flouting the rule of law and enriching himself and his family. Now, his personal lawyer Todd Blanche--his pick for Attorney General--has granted him, his family, and his businesses broad immunity. I’ll continue to stand up with Democrats and Republicans against these gross violations of our Constitution.
This Teacher Appreciation Week, let’s celebrate the extraordinary educators who’ve dedicated their lives to lifting up our children every single day.  Teachers model compassion, ignite dreams, and build a better America one student at a time.  Thank you for your hearts, your patience, and your profound impact.
As people celebrate 4/20, let’s be honest about the contradiction: In many states, marijuana is legal. In too many lives, the consequences are still permanent. People are still carrying records. Still locked out of jobs, housing, and opportunity - for doing what is now sold legally in storefronts. That’s not justice. That’s hypocrisy. State laws have changed, federal law hasn’t. And thus: Small businesses are squeezed. Research is restricted. A growing industry is taxed and regulated in some places - generating real revenue - while the communities most harmed by prohibition are still waiting to be restored. We should be building a fair, well-regulated national framework that de-schedules, taxes responsibly, expands research, and reinvests in the very communities that paid the highest price. Progress has been made - because people fought for it. But we are not done. 4/20 shouldn’t just be a celebration. It should be a call to action. Expunge records. End the disparities. Empower small businesses Pass comprehensive federal reform.
On the 27th anniversary of Columbine, we remember the lives stolen and the families forever changed. We have mourned too many times. We have said “never again” too many times. And still gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in America. That truth should shake us. But here’s another truth: Because of relentless advocacy - parents, students, survivors, organizers - states across this country have passed laws that are saving lives. Progress is possible. Just not enough. Not yet. Our children still walk into classrooms practicing for the unthinkable. That is not normal. That is not acceptable. So we remember, but we also recommit. To action. To courage. To refusing to give up. Because change doesn’t come from despair. It comes from people who keep standing - together - until lives are protected and this nation lives up to its promise.
Proud to sponsor a resolution recognizing Black Maternal Health Week and highlighting the maternal health crisis facing  Black mothers in our country. Black women in the U.S. are dying from pregnancy-related causes at roughly 2-3 times the rate of White women—a stark and persistent disparity. We must act to address the systemic failures in our healthcare system. We must pass the Momnibus immediately.
