Boruta.dev @boruta.dev · Dec 1 Imagine @steampowered.com releases a new version of Steamdeck, that is slightly more powerful, but comes without a display or controller, and works with external display and bluetooth controllers. Would you buy it? Sounded silly in 2018, doesn’t sound half-bad in 2024.

This has got me thinking about the Steam Controller 2 rumors and the possibility that they're going to make it like a 15,000-in-one console. A controller that IS a Steam Deck, that you can install your games to and then use like a USB-C-to-HDMI cable to play them on your TV.
I would consider. But that would be just a small PC then... I'd rather buy a PC
I'd like one! Not sure it'd happen though as, since it would be an open system, they'll just get undercut and out-specced by competitors. They can compete in the handheld space because of the hardware limitations of that kind of device. As a settop box they'd only have a brand name to rely on.
I wouldnt cos im a 4090 chad, but tbh I wouldn’t wish PC building on anybody, and I think it’d do really well. Steam is the far superior store to all the others in price and consumer treatment.
