Last year ebay quietly opted everyone in to training AI based on your account activity. You can opt out of it here. accountsettings.ebay.com/ai-preferences

Thnx. I just opted out. Fuck AI!

The toggle isn’t working for me - it’s stuck on Yes…

C.V. Danes · Jul 3

It should be illegal to automatically opt in.

Done. Thanks.

Worth noting the toggle only affects future training, not data already collected before you switch it off. And it's opt-out by design, meaning silence is treated as consent. That's the real story here: the default itself is the product decision.

I totally missed this until I saw that someone I messaged had "enabled ebay.ai" and I was like... What the heck is that. They just turned it in for everyone a year ago and I didn't notice. We gotta just check everything now.

Where is it in Settings?

Your forgot the top part (or it's not applicable to you) THIS IS ONLY FOR PEOPLE IN EUROPE. The rest of the world is opted in and there IS NO opt out.

AI training transparency is becoming a major trust issue. Giving users clear visibility and meaningful control over how their data is used should become a standard practice, not an exception.
