The second day of the the #DSN50 #NasaSocial celebration in 2014 was at the #Goldstone #DeepSpaceNetwork, one of three locations with massive antennas used to communicate with the spacecraft. The first set of photos are of the 70 meter antenna. They tilted it down for better photos.

The 70 meter antenna moves silently despite it's size. The first indication that it was starting to move where all the birds that flew off the support beams on the underside of it.
