Was rewatching Breaking Bad on the ol’ YouTube Shorts (as one does) and up came a thought, how come Walt decided to go with the vacuum repair company to disappear his family instead of the alternative that Saul throws out there: “What did you expect, Haji’s Quick Vanish?” Clearly, he phrases it as if it’s a well known business in the Albuquerque area, enough that he assumed Walt already knew the business by name. Saul immediately gives the vacuum repair company less credit by saying, “I don’t even know the guy’s name.” At least Haji, by comparison, has the decency to put his name in the business so people know who they’re working with. Overall, it seemed like a no-brainer decision to go with Haji’s instead; I’d even assume his services would be cheaper if his business is successful enough to be renowned enough to assume Walt would know it by name. I really wonder if it was the stress of the situation that didn’t make Walt think about his options.
