The GB has 2 bit color (2bpp), meaning the color options are limited to only 4 colors, but that also means 4 pixels can fit in a single byte (¼Bpp). As opposed to most modern bitmap formats, where they are 24bpp / 3Bpp, or 32bpp / 4Bpp (with alpha transparency) [5/15]
