I always thought that a Fez wouldn't be very good in the sun - wouldn't your ears get burnt? My wife wouldn't let me take my Panama hat on the plane to the US - they hat a lot of baseball caps, which I also think make poor sunhats.

I'm a desert kid but if I want to be able to skip sunscreen on my neck I'd want a brim maybe twice as large. I can't deny the style here though
