The patio at the Music Box Lounge with a couple dozen of our friends gathered to celebrate Jim’s life.
A Q&A afterward included Joyce Horman, the widow played by Spacek in the film. The crowd was full of wonderful Chicago communists having conversations at normal volume while the Q&A was ongoing, shouting questions without waiting for the mic to be handed to them, and voicing their approval like a prayer meeting. One of the funniest things I've ever seen at a screening: one of the panelists recommended "a book by Naomi Klein, called Disaster Capitalism" and about half the audience shouted back "it's called THE SHOCK DOCTRINE!"

The problem is that somewhere they know only too well.
