A dense school of sand lance blocks my view. These fish are an important food source for tons of other species, so it's a great sign to see them out in such large numbers.

An Eastern Wood-Pewee perched on a branch looking at the sky for its next meal. When it spots a flying insect, it pops up off the branch, grabs its meal, and then lands back on the same branch.
A chameleon shrimp swims in the water column. These arthropods are quite common in New England, but rely on their slim profile and near-transparent coloration to avoid detection.

The right side of this image will look familiar to lunar observers, as this is visible from Earth. The left side is the far side and I love it. Orientale is the most prominent giant crater feature visible on the far side.

A green sea slug fills most of the frame despite being incredibly tiny. The slug has translucent protrusions filled with easily visible green plant cells and tipped in white. The "face" of the nudibranch has beady eyes like a Wallace and Gromit character. The animal is crawling on a green piece of algae with individual grains of sand easily visible.
A tulip-shaped nebula is off-center in a dense starfield in the constellation Cygnus. The nebula itself is bright with colors ranging from green to teal and dark dust lines. The surrounding area also glows a faint green as gas emissions cover the area.

A live composite image captured with a fisheye lens from my backyard. By capturing a series of 8s photos, the camera adds new light as it arrives. Thin clouds produced the light beam effect.
