Hannah @brightmare.substack.com · Mar 30 I finally watched The War of the Rohirrim last night and began to tear up within the first few seconds of the opening scene. I wasn't sure what to expect because of the mixed reviews, but it was pretty much everything I'd wanted from a movie about Rohan. The LOTR horse girl movie of my dreams.

Now that I've read some of the reviews in earnest, many of the lowest ratings among them make me wonder if some of those critics' opinions would have been different if the protagonist had been male.
